Polkas, like this one I learned from Mairtin O Connor, are great fun to accompany on the bass. Make sure you work on the bass line first as the changes often happen on the ‘off beat’; that is, on the ‘ands’ of ‘one and two and’. Polkas are quite fast and lively when played up to speed so don’t be afraid to enjoy them.
